ToR of Junior Technical Assistant (JTA) Veterinary

  • Report to:Agriculture Officer and Project Coordinator Contract Period: :1 Dec 19 to 31 December 2020, possibility of extension

Purpose of the Position:

A Veterinary JTA will be responsible to perform extension, farmers communication and training to farmers; for quality animal husbandry and income increment through best practice diagnosis production related problems and needs as well as priorities them; obtain solutions for recommendations. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provide door to door technical service to farmers Monitor, track and report the animal health and status to technical officer regularly Provide training and coach farmers on animal rearing and animal health related issues Report and liaise with, reporting officer and project coordinator regarding the deliveries. Facilitate farmers group for stall feeding practice, organic manure preparation, quality fodder production and support to marketing for milk and dairy products. Regular supervision and monitoring of project activities. Collaborate and coordinate with other working agencies in field level


Key Skills and Qualifications: Candidates having veterinary JTA training from any recognized institutions, with at least 2 years of experience especially in animal treatment and husbandry, Must be willing to travel and work extra hours with more than 80% field-based works Fluent networking and coordination skills Good interpersonal skills


Additional Competency Willingness to be contactable at all times when needed. Willingness to work out of office hours when required.
